Brycen is back in school, Danny's back at work and the girls are up to their usual stuff. Here's an update on all of us:
Brycen: No Notes from school this week!! Yeah. His teacher sent home some books that he is going to learn to read. It is so exciting watching him do "big boy" stuff. His PaPaw and Nanny sent him a Gamecube for Christmas that he really enjoys. It's so amazing how they just "know" how to do these silly games. He does have a time limit, and it's been working really well.
Emily: Well, what can I say, she still looks so tiny, but all of the words that come out of her mouth are so big!! She is so cute, when Hannah is throwing her bedtime fits, she will just lay there singing "Jesus Loves Me", "ABC's", or "Itsy Bitsy Spider". Oh, Emily is a dancing machine. She reminds Danny of the way that Elaine, from Seinfeld, dances. It is too funny.
Hannah: Man, this girl can scream!! The past few weeks she has been screaming (like someone is cutting a limb off) at bed time. Thank goodness she is getting better. We've gone from an hour bedtime fight, to anywhere from 2min to 30 min. Oh, well. What do you do? Hannah is so sweet, many times thru out the day, she will run up, hug my leg, and say "love you momma". You can't beat that!
Christy & Danny: We are really loving Colorado. It is so beautiful. The weather is awesome. The cold is different from Texas cold.(well, now I know it was hardly ever cold in Texas. The church www.rockfamilychurch.com is doing awesome!! The church is about 6 months old and we are running about 100 on Sundays and about 15-30 youth on Sunday nights!! Danny's worship team is awesome!! He is truly blessed to have such faithful and talented people serving with him. I'm involved with the 0-4's class. We have 10 volunteers, which I think is awesome considering the size of church we are. We absolutly love our pastor's and are excited to see how Colorado Springs will be impacted by the people of Rock Family. The vision God has given Pastor Dean is so, um, big, huge, awesome, amazing. Really there are no words to describe it. We are just so humbled that he is allowing us to be a part of it. Oh, how could I forget?? Rock Family has just hired our very first full time youth pastor!! Anthony and Marie, from Waco Texas, will be here at the end of this month to jump start our youth ministry. There are about 10,000 high school students (I don't know how many Jr.Highers) on the north side of the springs, where we are. They are just waiting to here about the love of God!! And we know that Anthony and Marie will "bring it too em"!!
What else....... Our family has a new addition!! No I'm not pregnant!! Steve Jones, who moved here from OK, has become our adopted brother. He moved here to hook up with Rock Family. He plays keys for the band, and does whatever else is needed. The girls even call him "Uncle Stevie". He is such a blessing to us. I honestly havent seen Danny have so much fun with a guy in a long time!
We miss our Texas family and friends so much. I talk to my friend Lauri everyday, I don't know how I would make it with out her constant encouragement. We talk to Bea atleast every other day. She is so faithful to call and check on us. She's great because she totally understands that the kids sometimes keep me from picking up the phone to call. We were so happy to see Jeff, Syl and the kids at Christmas. It helped us feel like we were home for a little while. What else?? Jamie was here for Christmas, and we had allot of fun with her. She introduced us to Napolean Dynamite!! We will be forever grateful. He has truly filled our lives with laughter!! Yeah, I'm a dork, but I get it from Jamie!.
I guess that's it for today. I'll be sure and keep you posted of the Gonzales happenings!! Love and miss all of you.
Stacey, we love and miss you. Can't wait to see you in March!!
